Another Adisa's Refreshing Thought...

Why do women always show off their breasts?

This is probably a very controversial topic, but it's something that has been on my mind for a long time and I figured I'd share my thoughts of it on Facebook and see what the people think...

The question: Why do women always show off their breasts?

There are many different ways you can approach this question with an answer but I don't think there is a true answer unless you come from a woman's point of view.

I've been doing this college thing about 4 years now and have seen it all as far as shapes and sizes are concerned. Anywhere I do on the campus of The Ohio State University and other universities I have visited as a student at Ohio State, I will always come upon a woman who is always showing off her clevelage.

I've been to parties, women are showing off their breasts...
I've been to conferences, women in business suits are showing off their breasts..
I've been to events, women are showing off their breasts...
I've sat in countless meetings, women are showing off their breasts...
I've even been to Christian Functions, and behold, women are showing off their breasts...

I personally think women do it as a way to draw attention to themselves. Some women may not have the best of the features in other parts of their body so they figure that if they show that part they will get the attention that they need...

I'll share with you a story, I was sitting on a committee a few years back that met every week from January-May and around April when the weather started getting warm, there was this one girl on the committee who would start wearing articles of clothing revealing her breasts. No matter where I would sit in the room, she always found a way to sit across and would intentionally lean over to show off her goodies. I am a man of GOD and have been trying to do the right thing for many years but I ain't goin to lie, if you put it in my face, I'm goin to look. That was probably the hardest hour ever to focus on that meeting because I was paying attention to her than the meeting...

As a man, I want to date a woman for who you are as a woman, not about your breasts or any other parts of your body that are good... In the long term, its going to be the love that will keep us together not the shapes that you posess...

In closing, I would say to the women out there, if you got flaunt it, but please know that there are times where you can show the clevelage, and there are also times where you should cover it up...

This has been Adisa's Refreshing Thought...

Adisa's Refreshing Thought...

Do We NOT Take Marriage Seriously? in 2008?

This has been a topic that has been on my mind for quite some time. The divorce rate is so high these days, I don't think that people are too concerned with the marriage but more concerned about the wedding. In my own opinion, the wedding is only a 5-minute thing compared to marriage which is forever. When you take that vow, it is saying that you will be with that person through good times and bad times, through the days you can make it rain and the days that you are broke like you can't believe, until the time that you got to go 6 feet under. People don't see that concept because they are only concerned about a wedding and trying to make it special.

I have 3 tips for a successful marriage and then I'll be through...

1) Continue to go out after you get married. You have to do the things that kept you happy while you were dating the significant other. Go to the movies, to the opera, to the basketball game, to the park or wherever, do the things necessary to keep the fun going in your life...

2) Don't have children right away. You have to get a feel for married life, how living with the significant other is and enjoy the company of each other. Wait at least a year and then start considering having children. Children are a LIFETIME committment so they can wait.

3) Always appreicate your spouse. It dosen't have to be diamonds and pearls but you have to do something special to show that you appreicate them. Do a candlelight dinner or something like that. I'm not married nor am I close to it,so I dont know what to do but you all get the point.

So this has been Adisa's Refreshing Though for this week...

Please comment as you feel necessary...

It's Been A Long Time...

since I last wrote and thats a good way to come back. I've just completed my 4th autumn quarter at THE Ohio State University and I am beginning to see the light a little brighter at the end of the tunnel. This quarter has probably been my most challenging with the distractions that occured out of the classroom. Every time something was going well, something would happen to get in the way and make the system which I call life complicated. I traveled and went on the best tour I've ever done (UNFINISHED BUSINESS) to get away, but it only worked for so much. When I came back the same issues were still here. Such is life and you learn to deal with each challenge as you get older and wiser. I'm 21 now and although it is young, its also old. I said at a program a few weeks ago when I was sitting on the panel that "I aint got it like I used to". I've taken a new personal approach with being involved in the Black Community. Last year I dominated it to the point where I didnt see a challenge no more for me in the Black Community because I ran the show effectively. I'm still around helping out but I've realized that its time for the younger students (freshmen and sophmores) to step their games up. My new challenge is working to get things right in the University overall and I've found that challenge on the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences Student Council. I'm the only Black person in the room and I love the challenge because I have something to look foward to every time I meet with this group of people. I have a target on my back when I walk in that room and I love every minute of it.

My next challenge is graduation. I'm finally starting to take the steps necessary to do it including getting classes and all that stuff straightend out. It didnt help that my advisor left the university at the beginning of the quarter but I've made do. When will I walk and recieve my degree? I personally don't know that answer, but once Winter Quarter starts then I will hopefully know that date. I'll make a public announcement January 15th as to when I will walk and that will be the date, no questions asked.

I think that's enough for now....

Until next time...

I am deeply shocked and sadded by the events that took place at Virginia Tech today. My thoughts and prayers are with those who lost loved ones in this terrible tragedy...
